I stumbled upon this web site quite by accident. I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I was to learn that POP continues to grow and prosper. How pleased I was to read through the 40th anniversary publication!

Through it I was able to take a stroll down memory lane. There I found that many of the people I remember from my childhood days continue to be vibrant members of the community.

Of course, I was saddened to read that many of the people who were so important in our lives 40 years ago have died. People like Bob Sullivan, Steve Alcott, Joe and Bernice Weider, Betty Nelson, Claire Oyler, and Tom Guganig just to name a few. Thanks so much for remembering and mentioning my Mom Mary. No doubt she was smiling from afar at your anniversary celebration! I know how pleased she would be to see that this faith-based community, so important to her spiritual and emotional nourishment, continues to survive and to carry on its important mission.

I continue to live in the area with my wife and our children. Though my faith remains strong my practice of it (at least in the attendance of Eucharistic celebrations) leaves much to be desired. I’m not sure if my discovery today might lead me back. But I must admit I find myself intrigued. As I recall, there are always open arms of welcome at each liturgy.

Whether or not that happens, I want you to know how excited and pleased I am to know that POP survives and flourishes. My hope and prayer is that you will continue to remain strong and vibrant for many, many years to come.
